More than 80% of the pistes are in the category beginner and slightly advanced. Saas-Fee is a ski resort open to all generations. Families are especially welcome here. For children and beginners, special facilities and activities are available: sunny pistes with gentle pistes, various playgrounds, ski schools. The Swiss Snow Kids Village is a 7000 m2 park with snow carousel and magic carpet in the imaginative Wild West style. Under the guidance of experienced ski instructors, little skiers get their first skiing knowledge in a playful and sociable environment. Children can also do a little baker's apprenticeship, bake their own bread and end up with a bakery diploma. Attractive offer for skiing and other activities
In addition to skiing, Saas-Fee also offers a large selection of other winter sports: tobogganing, snow tubing, freestyle, snowboarding, deep snow skiing, snowshoeing. Tobogganing is one of the most popular activities in the ski resort. The longest toboggan run of the ski area extends over 6 km from the Hannig (2336 m) to the valley of Saas-Fee with a height difference of 536 m. Served by a lift, there are fondue tastings twice a week on this route followed by a torchlight downhill run. Saas-Fee has 350 km of hiking routes through the spectacular mountains.
One of the main attractions of the ski resort is a visit to the ice pavilion of Mittelallalin at 3456 m altitude. In the depths of the Fee Glacier, at the end of a 70 m long tunnel, this pavilion with 5500m3 is the largest in the world. Decorated with magnificent ice sculptures, the pavilion is located near the Threesixty, the highest revolving restaurant in the world. Every hour, the building revolves around its own axis. All visitors benefit from the magnificent panoramic view over the Alps. Freestyle and snowboard fans will find a snow park on Mittelallalin with a variety of modern elements: kickers, boxes, rails, a quarterpipe and a halfpipe. The snowpark also has a chill-out area with sofas and beach chairs. Pure relaxation also through sonorous background music.
Ice sports and ski races
Saas-Fee also has a natural ice surface. On this, various sports can be practiced, such as curling or ice skating. Snowshoe hikes also occupy an important place. The exciting excursions lead to the glaciers and the background of Allalin. Do you fancy a glacier safari or a Nordic walking tour with snowshoes? These and other guided snowshoe tours can be booked on site. In Saas-Grund even nightly snowshoe hikes are offered.
Other interesting things to do in Saas-Fee are crossing the glacier in a cable car, ice climbing and visiting the ice pavilion on the Allalin. Saas-Fee also organizes various ski and snowboard competitions. Some of them are just for fun, like the guest race taking place every Thursday morning. Fun guaranteed on this mini-race between friends and family members, which take place both at the Stafelwald (Saas-Fee) and at the Kreuzboden (Saas-Grund) and Furggstalden. Every year in April, the famous Allalin races bring together skiers from all over Europe who take part in the highest glacier run in the world.
The Glacierbike Downhill Race is a mountain bike race on snow. Participants have to drive as fast as possible down the piste of the Allalin (3500m) down to the village (1800m). Goose bumps are also guaranteed on the toboggan run "Feeblitz". It is open all year round. On the 900m long piste with numerous curves you can reach speeds of up to 40 km / h. Children under 1.10m are only allowed to drive with an adult.
