Access to the Swiss winter sports paradise
St. Stephan is the gateway to the neighboring ski area Lenk-Adelboden. From St. Stephan, winter sports fans also have access to the Alpes Vaudoises. The combination of Gstaad Mountain Rides, Lenk-Adelboden and Alpes Vaudoises forms a huge tourism region, which can be used with a single ski pass, the "SuperPass". A total of 630 kilometers of pistes spread over 17 ski resorts and 188 ski lifts await visitors to this mega ski area.
From St. Stephan, several cross-country ski runs also start in the Gstaad region. Cross-country skiers (classic and skating) will love the 13 km long scenic route along the Simme River. This route crosses a flat area suitable for all athletes, beginners and experts alike. Adventurous skiers can go from St. Stephan on ski safari, the so-called "Rinderberg Ronda" of Gstaad. This challenging route allows you to discover three mountains and valleys in the Gstaad region without having to take the same piste or the same lift twice.
Fascinating winter hikes
Friends of winter hikes find in St. Stephen everything their heart desires. Wonderful hiking routes run through the forests and pastures of the Simmental and Fermelbachs. Icy streams, the beautiful intact nature, the tranquility, the fresh mountain air are both an invitation to relax and for a change. On foot or with snowshoes, two routes in the direction of Lenk and Zweisimmen invite you to spend one-and-a-half winter hikes.
St. Stephan also offers nightly winter hikes with fondue tasting. Hikers looking for an adventure can also take part in high mountain tours.
