Crans-Montana offers winter sports fans, whether classic skiers, snowboarders or fans of other skating sports, a wide range of opportunities to pursue their sport to their heart's content. Cross-country skiing, ski hikes, off-piste skiing, tobogganing, snowbike, snowcoot, snowskate, airbag - everything is possible in the Crans-Montana ski area. The network of interconnected pistes is complemented by 4 areas offering different activities for skiers of different competences. At the valley station of the Montana-Grand Signal gondola, there is a practice area for ski beginners, where they learn the basics of skiing in a playful atmosphere. For experienced skiers, the "100% glisse" section promises thrills on the 12 km long, legendary world cup piste "La Nationale". Absolutely unique in the region.
Halfpipe, freestyle, ski cross, airbag and other exciting installations are elements of the huge snow park (100 000m2) in the Crans-Montana ski area, much to the delight of those looking for thrills. For recreation, the ski area offers more classic family activities, such as sledging, snowshoeing and nature routes. Every Friday until 10 pm in the Cry d'Er and Verdets area, tireless people can pursue their passion for night skiing. The night charm of Crans-Montana can also be experienced during a traditional torch-lit hike. The program includes a tour of the Colombire Museum, traditional Raclette Valais style with wood fire and return by sled to Aminona station.
Excellent holiday destination for families
Crans-Montana is a family-friendly ski area. More than three quarters of the ski pistes are for beginners and intermediate skiers (blue and red pistes). In addition, there are numerous facilities especially for children and teenagers: ski schools, fun park, snowpark, discovery and recreational areas, model railway museum, etc. To underline the reputation of family-friendliness, every year is the famous golf course on the Crans -sur-Sierre Plateau turned into a slide paradise. There, the little ones can have fun with their parents on different slides with sledges or on tires.
Numerous snowshoe routes have been created especially for families, with widened routes to be comfortable with strollers. So that parents can spend their days on the pistes in peace and without worries, numerous childcare facilities and babysitting services. As a ski area for all generations, the Mont-Lacheaux trophy, organized as a super G-run, takes place in Crans-Montana every year in March. This race is open to skiers from 8 to 77 years. In the different racing categories (Er & Sie, parent-child, seniors, veterans ...) families can form teams and complete a crazy race together with unforgettable sporting and entertaining moments.
