Located at an altitude of 1050 m, south of the Vorderrheintal, Waltensburg together with Brigels and Andiast forms one of the main winter sports regions of the Surselva. All in all, the three ski resorts offer winter sports fans 50 kilometers of broad, sunny pistes and a wide range of attractive winter sports activities.

In the ski resort of Waltensburg, there is the longest piste of the holiday region Brigels-Waltensburg-Andiast. The 7 km long run starts at the middle station Alp Dado and leads to the valley station Curtginet. Several hiking routes with panoramic views, a toboggan run, a natural ice rink and a ski and snowboard school complete the winter offer of Waltensburg.

A fascinating toboggan run and fantastic winter hikes

One of the main attractions of Waltensburg is the toboggan run, which connects the middle station Alp Dado with the valley station via Spinatsch. With magnificent curves and a difference in altitude of 750 m, this 5 km long route is one of the loveliest sledges in Switzerland. This exceptional downhill run is a real treat for all sled fans, families and especially children.

For friends of winter hikes on foot or with snowshoes, Waltensburg has several routes to offer through enchanting landscapes. The "Brigelser Runde" and the famous "Panorama Weg" are the most popular winter hiking routes. Starting from Curtginet, the Brigelser Runde leads the hikers on a 8.9 km long route to the neighboring village of Brigels via Miglié and the wonderful lake Brigelser See. The total of 3.4 km long snowshoe route leads in a round of Waltensburg on the neighboring towns Cantuns, Tavellas and Munt Sogn Gieri back to Waltensburg.

With only 356 inhabitants Waltensburg is a small typical mountain village, which offers its guests active winter holidays in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Waltensburg is known for its historic buildings.
