The attractive holiday destination Adelboden-Lenk, in the Swiss Alps, is home to a large ski area, which is divided between the two ski areas Adelboden and Lenk. A total of 210 km wide and well-groomed pistes are available for winter sports fans in these two ski areas. This piste network is served by 72 modern and fast lifts, including several detachable chairlifts and a combined lift.

The ski area has improved even further with the construction of a new cable car, Stand-Xpress. This 10-passenger gondola lift replaces two obsolete lifts and promises more comfort for skiers as well as faster access to the slopes. Several surface lifts and rope lifts have been specially designed for children and beginners. Located in the most beautiful sunshine, the ski pistes in Adelboden-Lenk benefit from optimum snow conditions from November to May. An impressive network of snow-making systems can also provide snow for 60% of the ski area.

Various winter sports

Located in a broad valley, Adelboden-Lenk is ideal for winter trekking tours and snowshoe hikes. The generous meadows and rugged cliffs surrounding the ski area provide suitable conditions for various winter sports. Adelboden-Lenk offers cross-country skiers a large network of ways stretching over 60 km. No less than 67 km of different ways in intact nature are available for off-piste riders.

For professsional skiers, the highlight of Adelboden-Lenk is the black piste Chuenisbärgli. FIS Slalom World Cup races are held every year in January on this famous difficult downhill. This relatively short run (1.29 km) is one of the most exciting pistes in the World Cup with steep sections (sometimes up to 60%) and tight bends. Once the international competitions are over, the Chuenisbärgli will be open to all for the rest of the winter season. From start to end, thrills are guaranteed on this particularly steep slope. In Adelboden-Lenk carving fans will find remarkable pistes in the Metsch area. Beginners can try, practice and improve on the easy pistes of Bühlberg. Freestyle and snowboard fans can enjoy themselves in 5 superbly-equipped snow parks, including the famous Gran Masa Park (GMP).

Health and well-being

For one to relax after a hard day on the pistes, Adelboden-Lenk offers a variety of different wellness and relaxation centers. These have a long tradition in the region, as the many sulfur-containing springs used to treat rheumatism and respiratory diseases. Through this exceptional spa aspects of its thermal springs, the tourist region Adelboden-Lenk has earned its reputation as a wellness and relaxation destination. And it is also official: Adelboden-Lenk was the first Swiss tourism destination to be awarded the "Alpine Wellness" certificate.

Cross country skiing and snowboarding

A wide range of different ways awaits cross-country skiers in the Adelboden-Lenk ski area. No less than 42 km of well-groomed ways are reserved for them in the Simmertal and Engstligenalp at an altitude of 2000 m. For the evening cross-country skiing, there are 3 km illuminated ways available. Nordic ski centers in the ground and metsch with heated changing rooms and ski rental stands serve the comfort of cross-country skiers.

With its five snow parks with high-quality facilities, Adelboden-Lenk is a very sought-after address for snowboard and freestyle trailers. On the Hahnenmoos Pass is the largest snow park in the area, the Gran Masta Park, whose installations spread over more than 12 000m2. Awarded 5 stars, this snow park has a number of top quality elements: 11 Kickers, 17 boxes, 7 rails, 1 wallride and 1 corner. Right next door to the bar in the Grill'n'Chill area, one offers various beverages and cheese. For this purpose, a DJ hangs up.
