4 Vallées (1500m - 3330m)

4 Vallées – Ski holidays in French-speaking Switzerland

412 kilometres of slope at altitudes between 3.300 and 1.400 meters make the region 4 Vallées in the French-speaking part of the canton Wallis the largest skiing region of Switzerland and one of the largest skiing regions of Europe. As the name says, the Swiss winter sports region is comprised of four side valleys on the southern part of the Rhône. Nearly 100 lifts connect the valleys and mountain ranges of Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Verbier, Thyon and La Tzoumaz to form a single unique skiing region that has the right slopes for every athletic demand. A total of six skiing villages throughout the region serve as starting points to explore the slopes of Quatre Vallées – among them also Verbier as one of the most famous skiing villages of Switzerland. Thanks to the approximately 118 single slopes, the versatile and different skiing region offers ideal settings for every winter athlete – beginner, families or ambitioned professional.

Skiers looking for that special something will find a highlight in the skiing region 4 Vallées with the 3.330 meter high Mont-Fort-glacier. In addition to one of the probably most beautiful Alpine views of the world and powder snow all the way into April, this mountain is famous for the highest snow bar of the Alps and one of the steepest mogul slopes of the Alps and its demanding downhills. For all those looking for an athletic challenge, the other slopes of Quatre Vallées also offer numerous long stretches of downhill and deep snow slopes.

Skiing region for „highest“ demands

The range of slopes is just as broad for beginners. More than one third of the slopes are well adequate for becoming a professional and standing on securely on your own two boards. Snowboarders find what they are looking for thanks to several half pipes and Funparks in Theytaz, Nendaz and Verbier with Tables, Slides, Jumps and Boardercross. And last but not least, the cross-country trail range of the skiing region 4 Vallées is just as generous as the slope range for Alpine athletes. Cross-country skiers of all levels can enjoy the impressive mountain panorama on different trails.

Versatile winter program

A generous offer of winter activities provides you with fun apart also without the slopes and trails on two boards. Starting from idyllic winter hikes through the nature of the 4 Vallées to a romantic horse sled ride, all the way to more athletic leisure activities like ice climbing, ice skating, curling and snow tubing, there is something sure to please every type of taste. If oyu are looking for a true kick of adrenaline, you can also try heliskiing.

Ski villages with Swiss charm

A further must for Après-Ski-leisure activities is also a visit to the villages Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz. Next to typical Swiss flair, you will find stores, restaurants, cafés and bars here for best entertainment after the slopes. Of course every one of the ski villages in the 4 Vallées region also offer different accommodation for every taste and demand – from comfortable hotels and apartments all the way to rustic chalets and vacation homes.

By the way, the region of Quatre Vallées is not only the ideal destination for truly pleasurable skiing vacation. Also during summer the four valleys are worth a trip.
